Why ISTernship Summer Program 2024?

A summer internship programme called ISTernship (pronounced “IST-” + “(int)ernship”) is available to bachelor’s and master’s students who want to get further experience in scientific research. Selected candidates have been a part of the ISTernship programme since 2013, working closely with a member of our faculty or a lab member on a brief research project each summer.

The ISTernship programme is open to students with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Pupils with an interest in fundamental research in the following domains invited to apply: biology, mathematics, computer science, data science & scientific computing, physics, neuroscience, chemistry & materials, and multidisciplinary subjects. Those who completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree within a year of the program’s commencement date are also qualified to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Therefore, applicants must enroll in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme (or something similar).
They had to be at least halfway through (before the start date) in their bachelor’s degree degrees.
All students are welcome to apply, regardless of their citizenship or place of residence.
The candidate must enroll full-time as a full-time Bachelor’s or Master of Science (or equivalent) student in good standing at a degree-granting institution. They must have completed their bachelor’s degree’s fourth semester before the matching start date. Applicants may also be those who earned their master’s or bachelor’s degree within a year of the programme start date.
Students who are enrolled in or have accepted into a PhD degree are not eligible to apply.
All short-term mobility schemes, including ISTA and Russia, have suspended. Consequently, candidates who are currently enroll in Russian universities are not eligible to apply for the ISTernship invitation.
